I heard from a very reliable source that Shawnee Mission South is talking to ex Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky.

I don't understand how everyone thinks SME is terrible, the score seems pretty close to me.

it was 55-28 before South put in 2nd string.

And SME didn't sub at all. THe last two touchdowns of SME were their starters against OS subbies. Classy move by Coach Sherman.

We'll be in the weight room if you need us...

Coach Serman put all of seniors in on the last couple of drives, is it real that horrible to give his seniors one last hurrah in their high school football careers

In truth, if your opponent is so incompitent as to put in subs early, you can't blame SME for trying to take adavantage of the moment.

Putting your subs in early isn't being "incompetent," it's being safe.

I have to agree with Diablo. Up by 4 TDs in the fourth quarter with sub-state in front of you, why would you have your starters out there? Nothing more could have been accomplished by the starting group at that point, save getting hurt. Yeah, you will have points scored on your back ups, but who cares? The more important thing at that point is to be healthy for the more important game. SME still lost by 2 TDs, no starters got hurt for OS, and now they are getting ready to play for a shot at state.

Also, slugger, when your season is about to end, and there is nothing left to play for, why would you yank the kids that have earned the right to finish out the season?

Sniper, if OS is incompetent, how come they are playing this Friday and SME is watching?

The end of games like last Fridays, no matter which side your on, are great opportunities to reward those kids who bust their tails every practice but aren't good enough to start. I agree that for seniors who don't play alot, this time is for them. It's also a nice gesture to have your seniors come off to a round of applause from the stands for a great season.

Apologies, I was under the impression that the subs were put in after the 2nd quarter, putting in backups in the 4th Quarter is normal as far as I can tell. I was going to go to the game, but I actually forgot about it!(I know that is really bad)

Slugger-

If you're talking about having class, Scott Gourley pulled his starters early, and East was not completely out of it until the very end. Why wouldn't East try and capitalize?

Also, more on class, when Gourley said he pulled his starters in the 4th, in the KC Star, it was a huge slap in the face. Coach Sherman may be one of the greatest men on the face of the planet, and if anything has the most class among any of the coaches in the region..

You sir should be ashamed for your rude remark. But in the end, words don't mean anything in this game. Learn some respect, maybe it'd be a good thing to teach your kids out there, instead of feeding them corn all day.

OE HAWKS Save it for the field Jared is one of the toughest guys you'll ever meet and plays the game with passion.

SFL Fan,
When Gourley pulled his starters, there was 3 minutes left in the game and OS was up by 4 toudchdownws. tha game was already decided. What Coach Gourley said in the star was that SME scored a couple of late touchdowns against OS subs. He spoke the truth. That is no slap to Coach Sherman.

And I am not ashamed of any remark I have made on here. I don't know Coach Sherman, I have never met the man. His record speaks for itself. I sincerely hope he beats his personal battle which is far greater than anything on the field.
