After just two week of district play several teams have already punched their ticket to the 6A state playoffs. Here is how the districts are playing out, showing team district record, and point spread (each team can either gain or lose up to 12 points each game depending on outcome, and total outcome is used in tie-breaker situations).

SM Northwest 0-2, -13
SM North 0-2, -20

Blue Valley Northwest 2-0, +18
Olathe East 1-1, +8
Blue Valley North 1-1, 0
SM South 0-2, -24

6A District 3
*Olathe North 2-0, +24
Blue Valley 1-1, 0
Blue Valley West 1-1, -11

Eli, i's 13 points per game max not twelve.

10 teams are in, 12 teams eliminated. 10 teams play for the final 6 spots. Districts 2 & 5 are the most interesting, no team clinching a playoff birth and one team eliminated. In reality, though, 2 is pretty well decided, while 5 is completely unpredictable. Here is a breakdown:

* - Clinched berth
# - Clinched district
^ - Eliminated

Seeding in the West is speculative. DOD, DER and WNW look to be headed to 3-0, 7-2 and 7-0 vs. 6A teams so we could have a coin flip among these teams. Also the #1 seed will go to Manhattan if they win but if they lose, many many scenarios are still possible

District 1: SMW* (2-0,6-1,+25) SME* (2-0,4-4,+8) SMNW^ (0-2,4-4,-13) SMN^ (0-2,2-6,-20)You have to give the SME Lancers credit for working hard and improving over the course of the year. After a 0-3 start they look ready to challenge the “L” teams (LHS, LV) for the cellar in the Sunflower. They have truly earned their playoff berth. Unfortunately for them they face a SMW Viking team that is really peaking at the right time. West played their most complete game of the season in dismantling SMN 49-7 in a game that wasn’t as close as the score indicates. It looks like a very sloppy field for Thursday night’s game but the Viking defense is too much for East in any conditions
DISTRICT CHAMP: SMW (3-0, 8-1, #2) RUNNER-UP: SME (2-1, 4-5, #8)

District 2: BVNW (2-0, 6-1, +19) OE ( 1-1, 5-3, +7) BVN (1-1, 3-5, 0) SMS^ (0-2, 3-5, -26)…Theoretically the only thing that is decided here is that SMS is eliminated. Yes, BVNW could still not get in with a loss to BVN by 10 or more (VERY unlikely) and OE beating SMS by at least 3 (very, likely). But the Huskies have shown good focus and will ready for this one.
DISTRICT CHAMP: BVNW(3-0, 8-1, #3) RUNNER-UP: OE (2-1, 6-3, #5)

District 3: ON# (2-0, 8-0, +26) BV (1-1, 2-6, 0) BVW (1-1, 3-5, -12) OS^ (0-2, 4-4, -14) … BV meets BVW for the final spot here. BV looks like the best 2-6 team in the history of HS football, BVW looks awful. ON has this one wrapped up, OS is eliminated.
DISTRICT CHAMP: ON (3-0, 9-0, #1) RUNNER-UP: BV (2-1, 3-6, #7)

District 4: LFS*(2-0, 6-2, +26) ONW* (2-0, 4-4 +26) LHS^ (0-2, 0-8, -26) LV^ (0-2, 0-8, -26)…On paper Free State should cruise over ONW for the title. But the Ravens have put up 112 points in the last two weeks (albeit against the “L” teams) and that will do a lot for your confidence. Still, I’ll go with the paper.
DISTRICT CHAMP: LFS (3-0, 7-2, #4) RUNNER-UP ONW (2-1, 4-5, #6)

District 5: MAN(2-0, 8-0, +17) JCT (1-1, 7-1, +1) THS (1-1, 5-3, +5) TWR^(0-2, 5-3 -23)…Wow. Like district 2, the only thing decided here is that Washburn Rural is eliminated. Unlike 2, Anything can and probably will happen here. We face the very real prospect of the MAN-JCT loser not being in the playoffs at all. MAN would miss if they lose by more than 8 and THS wins by more than 4. JCT could actually win this game (by less than 8) and still not get in if THS wins by more then 3 less than JCT wins by. Obviously MAN controls their own destiny, but in reality so do JCT and THS…if they win by enough points. I believe the MAN-JCT game is in MAN so I’ve got to go with MAN and THS.
DISTRICT CHAMP: MAN(3-0, 9-0 #1) RUNNER-UP THS (2-1, 6-3 #6)

District 6: DER* (2-0, 6-2, +18) WHT*(2-0, 4-4, +20) WE^ (0-2, 1-7, -26) WSE^ (0-2, 3-5, -12)…The most predictably district, nothing exciting has happened here.
DISTRICT CHAMP: DER (3-0, 7-2, #3) RUNNER-UP: WHT (2-1, 4-5 #5)

District 7: WNW* (2-0, 6-2, +26) WS* (2-0, 5-3, +16) WCA^ (0-2, 1-7, -16) WN^ (0-2, 1-7, -26)…Also exactly as predicted. Northwest seems to be rolling but can they play against non-Wichita Schools? !
DISTRICT CHAMP: WNW (3-0, 7-2, #4) RUNNER-UP: WS (2-1, 5-4, #7)

District 8: DOD# (2-0, 6-2, +26) MAI (1-1, 2-6, -9) GOD (1-1, 1-7, -6) GAR^(0-2, 4-4, -11)…Like District 3, Dodge has clinched here and Garden is eliminated. Maize and Goddard play for the final spot.
DISTRICT CHAMP: DOD (3-0, 7-2, #2) RUNNER-UP: MAI (2-1, 3-6, #8)
