Of course you know I'm pulling for Brad! Warmack seems to be everyones first choice, but he is a junior. Only one junior has won. It seems as though they are giving Brad recognition for his career achievement. Also to note, MO schools that reach the championship game play 15 games (to KS 13). Brads career numbers are based on three regular seasons and three playoff games.

All great candidates and they can't really miss with a winner this year.

Sure, who gets nominated for the Simone for only rushing for 2,228 yards and winning a state championship? What a joke.

agreed.

Yeah, I think Sterbach was left behind because they already had a RB candidate with Warmack (i.e. if you were going to vote for a RB, you would probably vote for Warmack).

In his 15 Games Warmack averaged 152 yards per game where Sterbach was around 170 in his 13. Where Warmack gets Sterb with the voters is in TDs where through 13 games he had 35 (vs. 22) and finished with 40. Also Warmack had 9 yards per carry (Sterb 7) and had a game where he rushed for 415 yards (vs. Lee's Summit).

Govannon hit the nail on the head. With Sterbach you're naturally comparing him to Warmack--a guy who also won a state title and who put up better numbers than the Sterbanator. Strauss remains in contention because of the sort of "Lifetime Achievement Award" the Rev referenced, where he took over at QB for a program coming off a 1-8 season, and three years later they go 8-3 and make Sectionals.

Players who I saw who impressed me this season in no particular order...

Braden Smith...will play on Sundays if he doesn't get injured. Its as simple as that.

Darling/ SM East...great arm for a HS QB. Not the best QB in the league, but the best college QB prospect in the league.

Trevon Wrench...good quick athlete, has to be a D1 prospect.

Brad Strauss...incredible command of the offense best QB I saw.

Kyle McFarland...just a shade behind Strauss. Nice combo run/ pass QB. I wondered if Lawrence had never split who would've been the starter. That would be a nice problem to have for any coach.

Andre Maloney...fast and coordinated athlete. Absolutely a D1 player. Curious to see how he responds next season.
