So many tough games to pick this week. This week will separate the men from the boys.
LV @ SMNW - LV trying to keep pace with the rest of the league. Maybe the leagues best rusher against one of the top rush def. I think LV pulls it out. LV in a close, low scoring game.
SMS @ OS - Both teams trying to keep their conf hopes alive. Should be a great game. Can OS match SMS physicallity? Can SMS erase the demons of years past? It hurts me to say this, but I think SMS will pull this one out. SMS in a close one.
SME @ ON - Another great game on tap. I always have trouble picking against Gene Weir in the close games. I'm staying with the Eagles. ON in another close game.
OE @ SMN - finally an easy game to pick. SMN in a laugher....Just kidding. OE gets back to even in a runaway.
ONW @ LAW - Despite the intimidating def front line of ONW, LAW finally gets in the win column.
And finally SMW @ LFS - I've been high on SMW and low on LFS so far this year. With the way SMW has struggled, it's finally going to catch up to them. LFS will pull this one out.

Leav vs SMNW - I have to give NW the edge here only because Leav lost almost every close game they should have won last season. SMNW 20 Leav 17
SMW vs LFS- Free State wins this one even though both teams are not as dominant as everyone thought early on. LFS 27 SMW 20
SMS vs Olathe South- Have to give SMS the edge based on their previous two games. Could go either way but SMS 17 OS 14.
SME vs ON- I'm going with North here because I was so high on them to begin the season. Could come back to bite. ON 24 SME 21
LAW vs ONW - Who knows? Throw the records out the window. Both teams played tough last week against undefeated teams. Both coaches are top notch. SME 20 Law 19
OE VS SMN- The only good to come out of this game is we may get to see OE's Junior QB Chase Miller. He may be OE's best pocket passer since Derrick Miller. No relation. OE 49 SMN 7

ONW (1-2) @ LAW (0-3) I think Lawrence is the better team here but Verdini pretty well shredded their pass defense, if SMW had been able to hold on to the ball they would have beaten the Lions 35-13 at least. ONW may not be Verdini but they could rack up some passsing yards against LAW. If Anderson and Green for the Lions have some sort of read option I think they'd be a good counter balance. They need to play ball control like they did against West. I'm going to go with the home team in a squeaker. LAW 26 ONW 24
SMW (3-0) @ LFS (3-0) Vikings take their 14 game winning streak down K-10 to face the last team to beat them. I think West is physically the better team, Verdini the better passer, Maloney the best athlete on the field, Chambers and Pembridge the best lineman in the game but I'm going to have to be a Debbie Downer here and say I've seen just too many mistakes from the Vikes in the first three weeks. You're not going to be able to put the ball on the ground six times against the 'Birds. LFS 24 SMW 21
LV (1-2) @ SMNW (0-3) A really important game for both teams. Coug offense came alive a little bit last week and the 'Neers put up a good fight against the Falcons. Cougs have the better defense and kicking game, again I'm going home team. SMNW 27 LV 21
OE (1-2) @ SMN (0-3) Again, the best way to get over a tough loss is to play the Indians. Pumpkin heads roll. OE 49 SMN 17
SME (3-0) @ ON (2-1) An intriguing game, two teams that have struck up a pretty hot rivalry in recent years.. Most weeks this would be the game of the week if the game of the year weren't also this week. As expected the Eagles got back on track last week and the Lancers struggled past a mediocre Raven squad. They're going to have to play better to beat the Eagles. This could be a wild one. ON 42 SME 41
SMS (2-1) @ OS (2-1) Another good show down. Raiders seem to get better each week and Falcons really struggled last week in a game that shouldn't have been that hard. I've got to take one road team. SMS 28 OS 24

I'll have new ones up Friday by 11 pm. The exception will be the weekend of Oct. 10-13 when I'll be out of town and won't have them up until Monday.
Shoot! I missed the Thursday game again! No 6-0 again but I'll try for 5-0. Some phenomenal match ups this week so it will be very tough.

SME @ ON - Holy smokes great match up, SME has been taking the league by storm with their new flexbone offense which they run very well. However, ON has probably the best run defense in the league with weapons on offense to match. ON by 2 scores.
OE @ SMN - OE is the best 1-2 team in the league and I think they are better than some of the 2-1 teams. Praying for SMN. OE in rout.
ONW @ LHS - Everyone seems to think the Lions are starting to click after a close game against SMW last week. Let's not forget that SMW put the ball on the ground 6 times, 3 inside their own 10 yard line, that game shouldn't have been close for chesty. I do believe they are making progress and will take the win today. LHS takes it.
