**On Sunday, Olathe North senior linebacker Jimmie Swain pledged his commitment to Oregon. Swain's announcement took place in front of a live television audience during the Semper Fidelis High School All-American Bowl in Carson, Calif.

Swain had previously been committed to TCU, but he withdrew the commitment in November. He had since taken official visits to Oregon, Arkansas and Texas A&M.

A a senior, Swain recorded 105 tackles, nine sacks, recovered two fumbles and forced one fumble, in helping lead Olathe North to an 8-4 record and a Sub-State berth. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Swain is rated as a consensus four-star recruit by the various recruiting services.

**Olathe South senior Braden Smith, lauded as one of the nation's elite offensive line prospects, is still a ways off from his official commitment.

The 6-foot-7, 295-pound Smith has three official visits lined up for the month: Notre Dame the weekend of January 17th, Texas A&M the weekend of January 24th, and TCU the weekend of January 31st. He is also mulling an official visit to Auburn, schedule permitting.
