Falcon quarterback Jake Seurer is completing 64% of his passes, which is the best in the league.

at SM North District Stadium

The Lancers are tops in the league in total offense (467 yards per game) and total defense (212 yards per game) ... SM East has also scored 31 touchdowns, which is nine more than any other team in the league ... the Lancers have won all five of the meetings between the schools the last decade ... this is Leavenworth's final game of the 2014 season against a 6A opponent ... SM East is ranked No. 6 in the Midlands Region by Prepnation.com ... Leavenworth defensive back Isaiah Ross has three interceptions this season, and 12 for his career, which is the most among active players ... a win for SM East would clinch at least a share of the Sunflower League title.

This is just the second time during the Tim Callaghan era where SM West has been 1-4 through five games ... no team has ever been 1-5 or worse under Callaghan ... two of Olathe East's top seniors, Jalen Branson and Derek Miller, were held out of last Friday's game and their status for this week is unknown ... SM West won the last meeting between these two schools, 18-8, on Sept. 21, 2012 ... Olathe East is 45-6 in the month of October dating back to the beginning of the 2003 season.

SM Northwest (2-3) at Olathe Northwest (3-2) at CBAC

A victory for either team would put them at their respective win totals from last season ... Olathe Northwest defeated SM Northwest, 21-14, in double overtime in week one last fall ... Cougar running back Duron Lowe ranks fifth in the league in rushing yards with 449, despite the fact he only has 32 carries ... Olathe Northwest has blocked four punts and three kicks this year, tops in the league in both categories ... a SM Northwest victory be the first time the Cougars have been .500 or better in October or later since 2010.

SM South has three players, Zach Gerber, Dalton Lewallen and Joe Fales, who rank among the league's top ten in tackles.

SM North (0-5) at Olathe North (5-0) at ODAC (Thursday game)

These two schools have combined for 12 state titles all-time (Olathe North has eight, SM North has four) ... on Sept. 4, 2003, SM North beat Olathe North, 7-6, to snap Olathe North's 38-game winning streak (the Sunflower League record for most wins in a row) ... FSF, I will be at the game tonight. This is the team's second trip to play at SMSD-South stadium I believe this season. They have a good chance of going 2-0 at the stadium at the current slide the Raiders have taken.

Use it to your advantage like the Firebirds did late in the 4Q of week-1.
