Scouting Report
If you're not familiar with Gitlin, he's a kid you need to add to your Sunflower League watchlist.  College coaches have taken notice, and he's garnered heavy attention from major programs including Illinois, Oklahoma and Missouri -- there's a good chance he'll be FBS-bound before all is said and done.  He just has too much to offer in terms of size, speed, hands, etc. to not come away with any offers.

Gitlin's game draws striking similarities to former Raymore-Peculiar and Missouri tight end Chase Coffman -- if you want to play the best-case-scenario card.  Gitlin is excellent in open field because he has very good speed to compliment his tremendous height advantage and he moves well for his size.  He's got solid hands and he's also physical enough to run a slant  route near the endzone or get down in a three-point stance when he's called upon to do so.

What's more, he played in an already pass-heavy offense that's now inheriting an even more pass-orientated head coach in Chip Sherman.  Needless to say, Gitlin will get plenty of opportunities to help his team and impress college coaches this fall.  Two years ago, Olathe Northwest's 6-foot-10 Willie Cauley-(Stein) came out of nowhere  to dominate the league's secondaries.  It wouldn't be all that surprising if Gitlin made a similar impact in 2013.

I've been watching Gatlin in 7on7 for the last few weeks. He appears to be somewhat stiff and mechanical in his routes. He could also use some weight on his 6'6" frame.
