Faerber Collects First Offer from Illinois

According to Rivals.com, SM East receiver Elliot Faerber (right) has garnered his first division one offer from Illinois.  Faerber is the first known Sunflower League player from the class of 2012 to claim an FBS offer.

In 10 games as a junior, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound Faerber led the Sunflower League in receiving yards with 650, including an impressive average of 18 yards per catch.  Faerber is arguably the league's most talented returning player for the 2011 season.

Faerber is also receiving heavy interest from Nebraska and Missouri, among others.

He is a good player for sure....

Who will his QB be for next year? That will have a pretty big impact!

They're losing a great one in John Schrock but Coach Sherman and Coach Sam Brown will groom a replacement and find ways to get Elliott Faerber and the other East receivers the ball. Nick Pirotte looks to be a strong candidate for the QB spot. There are other QB hopefuls but I don't have their names.

I feel badly for all the University of Nebraska - Omaha players and signees now that the school has dropped football. Where is Kyle Swartz and Brent Guiser going to go college? James Franklin who had a dynamite freshman year will not have a problem getting on with another school?

Swartz has the great possibility of going to Pitt State. Franklin is thinking of going there as well. Guiser I have no idea where he's going.

Elliot is preety good but with the loss of Schrock i don't know if he can out perform his season from a year ago. Schrock made some dynamic plays that gave Elliot the oppurtunities he had. Should be fun to see how good he is with a noname QB in the pocket.
