@theimpaler, right? I was there and really questioned the call especially after ON stopped them on 4th & short a few times earlier in the game. What a great game! Unfortunate that someone had to lose. Much respect to the ON family (team, coaching staff, school, fans). Talked to a few fans after the game and they could not have been more gracious.

Not quite the same quality of game in Lawrence, unfortunately. FS had a great year. Nobody expected them to do much at the beginning of the year, but they did Firebird Nation proud! I can only say, Blaik Middleton is the real deal. He just might play on Sunday's in about 5 or 6 years. All 6 td's and 363 yards on 21 carries. In all my years of watching HS football, I have NEVER SEEN a RB make it look so effortless. That kid is smooth, quick, goes to top speed in less than 5 yards. WOW!
I will be rooting for SME to win this year and with ball control and keeping Middleton off the field is how they'll have to do it. Hutch only threw it 4 times (didn't have to) so the state championship will be won by the team that can control the o-line. Good Luck SME!

Yes, SMEaster, I've never had a problem with the Eagle fans who are always civil unlike a certain other team from Olathe that wears orange...FSF I said at the start of the year the 'Birds were being underrated. I think they had a fine year and hopefully what we saw towards then end of this year with LFS and SMW will carry them into solid years next year...I guess we start against each other again next year as our 'non-confernece' game. Should be a good one.

Wow what a game. Sad someone had to lose. I think North stopped them on 4th down in double OT. How about the performance of Jesse Kendricks #35 for North the kid was everywhere and had so many tackles it was amazing.

Will anyone go back and look at the film to see and count how many calls we wroned against ON!?! ON was robbed on sevetal calls its just a repeat of last year. If SME needs officials too cheat for them then good luck at STATE cause your officials won't be calling that game. Great job ON!

Great game. Fun to watch. Impressed with the SME O-Line and Kyle Ball. Ballsy call to go for 2 by SME which paid off.

@Theheartofaneagle...watched the game today and I'm assuming you mean calls like the Murphy fumble that was actually a fumble or the phantom PI call on SME on the ON 4th quarter TD drive that, if anything, should have been offensive PI, or no call at the very least.
Come on man, ISME fans could probably bitch about as many calls as ON fans...does it mean we're right? No, only means we'd be bitching.
Seriously, go whine somewhere else! It was a great game between 2 great teams.
But you stay classy...

Imp - not that I don't want to play SMW, but when you have an opportunity to expand your horizons, you should. Not my decision though. I just cheer regardless of whose on the other sideline. Agrred... SMW and FS will be solid next year for sure. For FS, lots of Jr and Soph contributors to compliment a Sr class that will be missed. Thanks to all those seniors for the leadership and carrying the torch!

I seen Eli put the video on twitter cause a lot of people have been questioning the TD. Looks like like he was down then put the ball over the goal line that's why it was a delay from refs.

What a great ending to a great game. Side note, I actually felt like the officiating went against SME a bit (watching on TV, not in person). Props to Jesse Kendrix (ON) for pouring his heart into that game. And Chaz Burgess who might be the most underrated player in the SFL. And what's not to love about a coach like Dustin Delaney? He represents everything you'd want in a high school coach. Can we clone him for the OE job?

And @Imp, you just couldn't resist getting one more dig in at Olathe East, in a thread that had nothing to do with OE.
