Eli what do the playoff match-ups look like? Solid game last night by the Lancers and they finally made the Star...

East looks tough on offense. Not sure if their d-line is big enough though. Hats off to the East coaching staff they had a great game plan. Is that Schrok kid getting any recuiting attention?

^ Schrock got hurt last night

Yes he is getting recruiting attention from some D2 schools. He stained his ac joint in his shoulder and will probably be out about two weeks. He's a great player but his backup is a very good qb as well and will do fine for the lancers. Go east! Great game last night!

What is the policy for seeding if Olathe East, SME, and Olathe North all tie for the sunflower league with the same record? who gets the higher seed?

Anonymous said...

Also schools like Havard, Penn, and Yale

Broken collar bone for Schrock, will be out for rest of season- we'll see if backup can lead the team.

If I remember correctly Moriarity was a pretty good QB too.

^^wrong. schrock out for at least two weeks. not a broken collarbone. separated shoulder

Moriarty is probably better than most of the QB's that currently start in the sunflower league. He will lead the lancers to victory. They are very confident and he should not be overlooked.

Schrock has been playing well, but Mangesldorf of smnw may be the better qb as of late

Sad about Schrock - big time player and great leader

Anonymous said...

Manglesdorf is a good qb but as of late his competition has been sm north and Leavenworth. Schrock has consistently performed against the toughest competition in the league

Schrock will be missed but his leadership is shown on and off the field. Moriarty is a great quarterback as well and will have no problem in running the potent lancer offense.

If OE, ON and SME all end up 8-1 seeds are drawn from a hat so anything is possible. I'll post various scenarios tomorrow. Congrats chicken, East looked good...did get a little help from the refs on two horrible calls but still totally outplayed West. If East winds up as the 1 seed they woulc play Free State. As the 2 seed they'l get SMN, as the 3 seed they'll get OS. All this assumes no upsets next week like BVN beating SMW or OS beating OE or LAW beating LFS.

Okay, some playoff scenarios. First assuming the following teams win next week: ON, OE, SME, SMW, LFS, SMN (this game makes no difference other than substitute LV for SMN in all scenarios if LV wins),
1,2,3 seed will be drawn by lot so there are six possibilities:

#1 SME v. LFS/#2 ON v. SMN/#3 OE v. SMW/#4 SMNW v. OS
#1 SME v. LFS/#2 OE v. SMN/#3 ON v. SMW/#4 SMNW v.OS
#1 ON v. OS/#2 SME v. SMN/#3 OE v. LFS/#4 SMNW v. SMW
#1 ON v. OS/#2 OE v. SMN/#3 SME v. LFS/#4 SMNW v. SMW
#1OE v. LFS/#2 SME v. SMN/#3 ON v. OS/#4 SMNW v. SMW
#1 OE v. LFS/#2 ON v. SMN/#3 SME v. OS/#4 SMNW v. SMW

Now if there are any upsets:
If OS beats OE then the seeds will be 1.ON 2. SME 3. OS 4. SMNW and the matchups will be
ON v. SMW or OE (random draw), SME v.SMN, OS v. LFS, SMNW v. SMW/OE

If BVN beats SMW this will change many things in all the above scenarios…
BVN would get SMW’s playoff spot but would change pairings I won’t go into all of them although given the way SMW has gone into their end of season swoon early this year it wouldn’t surprise me at all.

If LAW beat LFS it probably won’t make any difference since the points in district 4 are hugely in favor of LFS anyway.

If SMS beats SME AND BVN beats SMW BVN could actually win the district in which case everything is screwed up BVN becomes the 4 seed and SMNW moves up to the 3 seed.

If all goes as planned SME, SMNW, OE and ON would host 1st round games at the two SM stadiums and the two Olathe stadiums.

Correction: Lawrence just needs to defeat Free State by 8 points to take the playoff spot. This could happen since it is a home game for the Lions and they are getting most of the players back from injury and illness. The team on the field Friday should resemble the one which beat Olathe East for the first time since that game took place. Don't count them out. They have a lot of pieces when they are healthy.

Great game against SM West last Friday night by the Lancers. Superb offensive game planning and execution, and the defense was smothering. Only thing that lessens the euphoria from beating West and finally breaking a long string of losses to this arch rival was the injury to John Schrock, a character guy, great leader and great player. Like someone else has said, Robby Moriarty brings a lot to the table and can step up to lead this team. Go Lancers!
