For those of you that missed the OE SMS game last night. SMS played really well on offense and for the most part on defense as well. I think they led in total yardage for the game until Brown broke that long run after the game was decided. The right Tackle for SMS has to feel like a total Guber. Down 3 with less than two minutes left on the OE 26 yard line. 3rd and 2yards to go. He false started causing South to attempt a 43 yard field goal for the tie. The kick was short by about five yards. South was very effective running and with their play action game. OE will be very susceptible to play action in the playoffs. Unless Wallace can right the ship it will be an early exit for OE as usual.

Just for the record, KSHSAA typically doesn't release the state playoff brackets until the morning after these week nine games. If the bracket isn't up tonight, I'll have it up early tomorrow.

Okay at a quick calculation I've got:

(1) LFS vs. SMNW

(4) BVNW vs. ON

(3) GE vs. OE

(2) SME vs. LV

And out west:

(1) Derby (8-1) vs. Wichita North (1-8)

(4) Maize (7-2) vs. Manhattan (7-2)

(3) Topeka (8-1) vs. Heights (6-3)

(2) Wichita NW (5-4) vs. Garden (6-3)

Neither of the teams from last years state title game made the playoffs. Heights and Garden might be the other way around..
